Peachtree Teen seeks to empower teens through fresh, empathetic storytelling that inspires conversation in an ever-changing world.
Summer has just begun, and whether you like to soak up the sun or stay cool in the shade, there is always a place to crack open a new summer read. While you contemplate which books to stock on shelves for eager readers, Peachtree Teen has six new YA titles ready to entice and enthrall anyone looking for a good time.
On this list, Peachtree has LGBTQ+ titles that are perfect for Pride displays and for accounts with older readers. They span a range of subgenres, from the romantasy A Wild Radiance by Maria Ingrande Mora to the dystopian sci-fi romance Between Sun and Shadow by Laura Genn to the classic girls-with-swords romantasy The Hyacinth Labyrinth by Jamie Pacton.
Three debut authors also grace this list, all published within the first six months of 2026. Loretta Chefchaouni’s The Lustrous Dark is a YA fantasy inspired by a Moroccan folktale, perfect for Muslim-interest accounts or accounts looking for diverse genre fiction for older readers. The hardcover edition comes with stenciled edges, a foil cover, and illustrated endpapers.
Alaa Al-Barkawi, a first-generation, Iraqi American Shia Muslim writer, is the author of In the Country I Love, a contemporary coming-of-age YA story about two teenage Iraqi Americans growing up Shia Muslim in the United States. This is another great title for accounts looking for diverse contemporary fiction for older readers.
Finally, Delali Adjoa’s The Free Verse Society is a coming-of-age romance following two teens who connect through their school’s poetry club and the power of words. Poetry is woven throughout the prose, and the deluxe paperback edition comes with sprayed edges.
