Everyone has stories worth telling, but sometimes we don’t hear them until it’s too late! When my grandmother Mimi died, I realized how little I knew of her life, and the family history she carried down from her own parents. We didn’t just lose Mimi—we lost the wealth of adventures, experiences, and memories we’d never heard, or had already forgotten.
This realization launched my keepsake journal series, starting with This Life of Mine: A Legacy Journal, a guided workbook that inspires people to capture the unique details and stories of their lives, both for themselves and for those they will one day leave behind.
The latest in the series is My Baby’s Book: A Keepsake Journal. Conceived to serve modern families, it focuses on baby’s delivery and first few years. Prompts include a mix of short-answer questions, lists, fill-in-the-blanks, and places for photos. Sasquatch Books designed a timeless, embossed, hardcover that features the whimsical work of papercut artist Sarah Trumbauer.
The public “got” it, and a bestselling series was born! Following This Life of Mine, we created This Family of Ours, for families to record their personalities, values, adventures, and homes, in one beautiful place. With the publication of My Baby’s Book, the series has come full circle!
