In 2011, she was selected by People magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Hispanic Women of the World.

Mariana Ruiz Johnson (she/her) is an award-winning children's book illustrator, author, and instructor of illustration at the University of Buenos Aires. She currently lives near Buenos Aires with her husband and children.
