Devotion, understood as pure, all-encompassing love that only wants to give without asking for anything in return, is one of the founding values of Dolce & Gabbana.

At Dolce & Gabbana the concept of “devotion” is part of the very idea of work: it is as if something mystical is hidden behind every sketch, embroidery, and stitch. The fashion house’s most iconic bag is intentionally called Devotion precisely to pay homage to this feeling. A strongly sacred component accompanies many of the brand’s sartorial creations, accessories, and jewelry, which draw on the evocations of Sicilian popular culture mixed with a high degree of religiosity. And while the sacred heart, the saints, the Madonna, the rosary, and the cross are some of the most recurrent themes and elements in the collections, processions, funerals, masses, and the figures of bishops, popes, and religious devotees continue to represent a constant source of inspiration. In addition to the advertising campaigns, the most iconic images of the collections, and numerous shots portraying religious holidays in Sicily, the book will be enriched with many photos taken specifically for this publication by important Italian photographers under the direct guidance of Domenico Dolce on the set.
