Knit a stylish collection of contemporary, colorful sweaters and cardigans from popular author Melanie Berg (Mairlynd). Discover 13 unique designs to suit your style and make you smile!

From rummaging through vintage wardrobes to knitting bespoke pieces, this collection is inspired by Melanie Berg's personal journey of discovery and creativity. Each of the 13 designs has been carefully selected for its special features – be it an innovative construction, a clever button trick, or the exceptional qualities of a particular yarn. These patterns are crafted to inspire confident knitters to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.

Every pattern can be worked in 7 different sizes and each includes all the necessary charts, illustrations and clear photography, to make construction a breeze. Choose from patterns such as:

  • Alive & Kicking: a stunning short-sleeved sweater with a circular yoke, wraparound lace pattern and a flattering kick-out flair
  • Cinnamon Dream: a slouchy, cozy dolman-style sweater with lace panels down the front and sleeves
  • Quiet City: a cosy, draped poncho with an elegant roll-neck and cale-work detail
  • Whisperlike: a seamless top-down knit with ribbing at the waist and neckline, and delicate lacework on the shoulders.

The patterns are interspersed with tips and advice; and at the end, discover how readers have already interpreted Mairlynd’s patterns and made the sweaters their own.
In 2012, Melanie Berg quit her job as an IT specialist to live her passion: designing knitwear.

Melanie combines texture and color into wearable modern designs that are both playful and beautiful. She designs to surprise — from matching cheeky stripes with elegant lace, to unexpected color combinations. Her patterns have been published by yarn companies and knitting magazines large and small.

Easy Sweaters to Knit is a translation of her third book, originally published in her native Germany, in both German and English!
Melanie publishes and posts on social media under the trade name Mairlynd; she has over 103,000 followers on Instagram, 10,000 on Facebook, and a huge, successful presence on Ravelry.
