A little lost dog searches for a home and family in this beautiful, heartwarming story from Richard Jones, illustrator of The Snow Lion and Paper Planes.

Little Perdu is lost and alone, with nowhere to call his home. Outside, the sky is dark, the wind howls, and the grass is cold beneath his paws. In the busy city, people rush and race and cry, "Get out! Go away! Shoo!" Is there no place for Perdu to rest his aching legs and fill his grumbling tummy? If only there was a special someone who might be looking for a friend like him.

In his debut as an author-illustrator, Richard Jones delivers a beautiful, moving story about kindness, friendship, and finding a forever family. Gorgeous illustrations help guide a satisfying emotional journey, from a somber beginning to a joyful conclusion. For all pet lovers, especially pet adoption advocates.
"The text includes pleasing moments of lyricism. . . There are also little details sure to delight young animal lovers. . . Color is used effectively. . . .satisfying." —Kirkus Reviews

"Perdu is a winning and winsome protagonist, and Jones' story contains some wonderfully specific details. . . The soft, stylized illustrations beautifully capture the coziness of some moments and the harshness of others while bringing the pup and his predicament adorably to life. Perdu's quiet quest for home is a sweet journey worth taking." —Booklist

★ "A touching story of a little lost mixed breed dog searching for a home. The heartfelt words on the page beautifully complement the illustrations. . . . An excellent way to teach compassion and empathy."—School Library Journal, Starred Review
Richard Jones grew up in Leamington Spa before moving down to Devon to study illustration at the University of Plymouth in Exeter and never went home again! After finishing his degree, he stayed on to complete a PhD. While working on his thesis he got a "temporary job" in Exeter's Central Library and somehow found himself working there for more than ten years. When not at his desk he enjoys bobbing about in the sea, swimming in rivers, walking in woods, listening to audiobooks on the bus, and petting the cat. He now works full time as an author and illustrator.
