Rain, rain, go away . . . actually, after seeing this activity book, kids will say: Rain, rain, please STAY! It’s so chock-full of fun things that it won’t matter what the weather is like. Children will never be bored when they can create a drawing of what a rooster might look like as a robot, finish silly sentences, and solve mini-crosswords. Or maybe they’ll lose their marbles playing the "Lost Your Marbles?" word search game.
Budding fashionistas can design a t-shirt on the page (and maybe a real one), while future rock ‘n’ roll stars can pick the perfect band name by picking from a word list or by randomly choosing phrases from the dictionary. A few games are meant for two—just in case a friend’s around. With tongue twisters to make you snort, "off with its head" fill-ins (where you chop off the first letter), and classic riddles and conundrums, you won’t care how hard it pours!
Joe Rhatigan has authored more than twenty books for children and adults, including Bizarre History, Bizarre Crimes, Don’t Unravel When You Travel, and Out-of-This-World Astronomy. He has also produced several best-selling books and series, including 101 Places You Gotta See Before You're 12!, The Boo Boo Book, and the My Very Favorite Art Book series. Joe has been a poet, a teacher, a marketing manager, and a newspaper boy. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with his wife and three children. View titles by Joe Rhatigan
            Dear Rain, Rain,
You know how I’m always telling you to go away, come again another day? Well, forget all that! From now on, feel free to stick around as long as you’d like. Make yourself at home. Stay awhile. Pour your heart out. Why? Because now I’ve got this really cool book packed with awesome things to do when you’re out there wreaking havoc on picnics, baseball games, bike rides, swimming . . . you know, when going outside just isn’t going to happen.
This book’s got puzzles, games, things to draw and doodle, fun activities with socks and pennies, quizzes, and lots more. I can take this book in the car when we go on long trips, I can take it with me when I have to go to Grandma’s house (she’s lovely, but her television only gets three channels), and when I take it to the dentist’s office, I don’t even hear the patients screaming! So, stick around as long as you’d like. You can even play if you want. Just don’t get the pages wet, okay?

            Yours truly,
