    Spark creativity in your preschooler with fun activities that exercise their imagination. Each of the fifty-two cards in this deck features artwork from Eric Carle's beloved books, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, alongside an activity prompt that can be done independently or with others, like:

    • Go on a treasure hunt around the house for loose objects that no one needs. What could you invent with the treasures you found? 
    • At the grocery store, look for a kind of fruit you don’t recognize. Take a good look at the shape and color and later see if you can recreate it with crayons at home. 
    • Cut out triangles from tissue paper. How could you arrange these triangles on a paper plate to make something new? 

    With the help of Eric Carle's engaging artwork and friendly characters, you'll find your little ones thinking big, exploring their world, and imagining things you never thought possible.

    Born in the United States, Eric Carle was taken as a six-year-old child by his parents back to their native country, Germany. Later, he studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Applied Arts) in Stuttgart, and returned to New York in his early twenties as a graphic designer and artist. His many picture books are now known and loved by children around the world.
     
    In 2002, Eric and his late wife, Barbara, opened The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, in Amherst, Massachusetts, where the works of distinguished picture book artists, nationally and internationally acclaimed, are exhibited in three spacious galleries.
