I Am Diosa

A Journey to Healing Deep, Loving Yourself, and Coming Back Home to Soul

Look inside
This raw and relatable guide to radical self-care and self-love empowers readers to embrace the powerful Diosa within.

In this fiercely inspiring book, psychotherapist Christine Gutierrez welcomes women to join her in healing the wounds from past hurt or trauma to reclaim their worth and come back home to their true self and soul.

Diosa is the Spanish word for Goddess. A diosa is anyone who honors the primal feminine energy in the world and within themselves. According to Gutierrez, diosas face obstacles in their lives but are always ready and willing to go to their core to reclaim their inner worth and self-esteem. They are the ones that rise from the ashes and dare to piece themselves back together bone by bone and soul piece by soul piece. From stories of resilience from both Gutierrez and members of her Diosa Tribe, to mantras, meditations, and guided journaling prompts, this book gives women the tools they need to honor their sacred feminine and become who they were always meant to be.

I Am Diosa will inspire women to give themselves permission to feel, to be seen, to be heard, and to return to their truest selves.
“Gutierrez's words are at the same time raw and elegant, ancient and modern. It’s exactly what’s needed for the future we need to create. I Am Diosa is for every modern woman who craves a wisdom that's been denied to us for too long. Read and USE this magical book.”

“Finally, a book that beautifully and effectively combines a psychologically grounded perspective with ancient wisdom for cultivating self-love, self-care and deep healing. I Am Diosa is a step-by-step guide to true transformation and authentic empowerment.”

“I Am Diosa is the book we all need right now. Christine masterfully weaves psychology, soul, and her compelling personal story as an offering to come back home to our true, unbroken, and Diosa selves. I Am Diosa is raw and real, and though Christine is an “expert” and therapist, she speaks in the language of an hermana. She is a welcome and much-needed voice in the all-too-white world of “self-help.” Christine’s gift is that she speaks from the wholeness of her truth leaving nothing out—shadow, trauma, or addiction. She has worked hard to heal, she has earned her scars, and her journey is our initiation.”

Learning to connect to your soul voice, to heal your soul wounds, and to come back home to Self and Soul—these are breakthroughs that can make every area of your life healthier, happier, and more aligned. In working with people for more than a decade, I have seen the power of this soulwork and the transformations that occur in people’s lives. The first step is always the hardest, but if you are here, it’s because you are ready.
Wherever you are on your journey—you are welcome to unpack your emotions and stay for the ride. To still yourself enough to hear the rumbling in your belly and daggers in your heart. Place your luggage, your coat, and the weight of the day to the side for just a moment, and come sit with me and chat, pláticas del alma—soul chats.

I am here to take you on a journey, to help you to heal the wounded soul and guide you back home to you— to the true you. I will help, alongside spirit, to untangle the webs of your pain, shame, and trauma. By sharing stories from my own life and those of other Diosa clients that I have had the honor of hearing and helping. We will do this by sharing songs, prayers, tools, and inquisitive questions. There is nothing off-limits when it comes to soul healing—let the soul guide the way for this journey. This is your time to heal. You deserve it.
In the book Woman Who Glows in the Dark, Elena Avila says that “Curanderas help to build up a person’s energy system and self- esteem, and teach them how to break the vicious cycle of depression and hopelessness.” This description depicts how I view this process of helping someone to heal their soul wounds. I help you build your energy, remind you of the power and magic that has always been within. Under ruins and fragmented pieces, but always there—the soul and the divine Diosa within awaits.

Who Is a Diosa?

Diosa is the Spanish word for Goddess. The Diosa is a representation of the Soul Self who sees with her spiritual sight and smells with her soul senses. She is deep and raw—broken and whole. She lives in two worlds simultaneously: the world of the day and the mundane, and the world of the night and the mystery of soul. La Diosa lives in between realms. She has access to the gates of the psyche’s temple. She is “resilient”. Born of the ashes, she puts her bones back together piece by piece through it all—she always rises. And she doesn’t just rise, she dances as she rises. Naked, raw, whole, free. She is the music in the beat, the elements of fire, water, air, earth. She is Shakti—primal core energy. She is snake in the spine, activated. She is MA, Mother. She is ready to do the soulwork required because she is satisfied only when living her deepest soul truth. She has always been and will always be. She is you, she is me, she is all.

A Diosa is willing to go deep and heal.
A Diosa rises from the ashes time and time again.
A Diosa is fierce and loving.
A Diosa is connected to her shadow and her light.
A Diosa is connected to her soul, and if she isn’t, she won’t stop until she comes home to her soul again.

Diosa goes beyond male or female. Diosa is about invoking the feminine energy that we all have. Cis male, cis female, transgender, gay, straight, nonbinary—all are welcome to use the word. For all can activate the Diosa energy within. Diosa is the primal core energy of the universe and is open to all. I will be writing and using words like women and she, but this is for all. Feel free to make this book your own and cross out pronouns as needed to make it yours! If you are here, you were guided here. Your soul brought you here. And so you too, are Diosa.
