Ian Spelling

Ian Spelling, co-author of Star Trek: The Original Series – A Celebration, is an entertainment journalist whose Star Trek association dates back to the mid-1980’s, when he interviewed Gene Roddenberry for his college newspaper. Ian went on to write for StarlogStar Trek Monthly/Star Trek Magazine, and the official TNG, DS9 and Voyager magazines. He also wrote the weekly syndicated column, “Inside Trek/Strange Worlds,” for 22 years and was editor of StarTrek.com from 2010-2019. Additionally, Ian beamed onto Trek twice as an extra, playing a Bajoran in DS9’s “Sanctuary” and a Drayan soldier in Voyager’s “Innocence,” and he often moderates panels at Trek conventions.
