Seabury Blair Jr.

Seabury Blair Jr. is a freelance Pacific Northwest travel writer and retired columnist and outdoors editor for the Kitsap Sun newspaper. He is the recipient of national writing awards from Scripps Howard and Associated Press Sports Editors. Seabury Blair Jr. has written numerous hiking guides, including Backcountry Ski! Washington; Day Hike Inland Northwest: Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and Sandpoint; Day Hike Washington: Olympic Peninsula; The Creaky Knees Guide Washington; The Creaky Knees Guide Oregon; and Wild Roads Washington. As a youngster in Spokane, Washington, he hiked—often lost—around the hills of his native city.      He is a hardcore backcountry skier and hiker, and lives near Spokane, Washington, with his wife, Marlene, who is a graphic artist and mapmaker.
