Kate Castle trained at the Royal Ballet School in London and went on to dance with the English Royal Ballet for many years. She is now director of Dance South West and is the author of numerous ballet books for children.

Georgina McBain graduated from Chelsea School of Art with a Fine Art Illustration degree. She worked for an art dealer before reaching the finals of The Readers Digest Young Illustrators Competition. She has gone on to illustrate many children’s books. Georgina lives on a farm in the Northeast of England with her husband, two daughters, and assorted animals.

Sophie Allsopp grew up in England and in Hong Kong. Sophie trained as an illustrator, and amongst other awards, won a grant from the Prince of Wales to set up in business. She has also contributed illustrations for Candlewick Press’s Princess: A Genuine Moste Authentic Guide as well as Horse. Though always traveling, Sophie and her family have settled in southern England with their guinea pig, Betty.
